Financial Accountability

Kenya Kids Can is financially accountable in two different ways. First, KKC is a project under Africa Inland Mission, a member of the ECFA. KKC submits yearly reports to Africa Inland Mission. In the country of Kenya, all operations occur through our in-country non-governmental organization (NGO). Our NGO is audited every year by an independent auditor who submits those reports to Kenya’s NGO Board.

People often wonder how school lunches and a computer education can happen for only $2.10 per student per month. This $2 is our part of what it takes to make this partnership work. The community is doing the rest. It is the community that builds the kitchen, hires the cook, buys the pots, finds the fuel for the cooking fires, and secures the water. The children even bring their own bowls. Since the community is doing so much to make this happen, we can do our part – regularly delivering corn and beans and providing computer centers and computer teachers – for only $2.10/month.

$52/ month sponsors a CLASS OF 25 STUDENTS with school lunches and a computer education.

In many rural areas the schools are a bit smaller. This often leads to an average class size of 25 students.

$83/ month sponsors a STANDARD CLASS OF 40 STUDENTS with school lunches and a computer education.

Classrooms in Kenya are designed for 40 students. Many schools often have full classrooms, which makes this a great sponsorship level where a whole class can be supported.

$208/ month sponsors a LARGE CLASS OF 100 STUDENTS with school lunches and a computer education.

While classrooms are designed for 40 students, at our largest schools there is often a shortage of classrooms. Class sizes can climb to 100 students or more. Sponsoring a large class helps to make a challenging situation better.
