A year of growth and promises kept
What a tender, miraculous year.
When we found out that several thousand ninth graders would join our program in January, we were thrilled about this additional year of learning and nutrition for our students. And we admit: It was a little daunting to consider how we’d feed almost 3,000 more children every day.
As it turns out, we needn’t have worried.
So many of you showed up with your extravagant kindness and helped us nurture our students the entire year.
Our year by the numbers
In 2025, because of your generosity:
The 25,150 students in our program enjoyed a hot, filling lunch every school day.
We teamed with parents, cooks, and teachers to serve a total of 4,525,000 meals of githeri.
Our ICT teachers taught 13,700 computer lessons covering foundational technology skills.
Our KKC staff gave of their time every week to mentor 1,530 students in our after-school bible program.
